THIS MAN IN CHAMPIONS BOUT HAS A LOSING RECORD OK AND THE ONLY VICTORIES HE HAS ARE VERGAS, MARGARITO,MAYORGA. HE GETS TO FIGHT CANELO...COME ON.
He's fighting Canelo to boost PPV sales only.. that's the only reason i can see why he got a shot. Isn't Winky Wright suppose to be fighting on the same card as well?
I've read a few sports editors who think Canelo will be comfortably dispatched by the cream of the division,i.e Cotto, Bradley. I would love to see him in with the big boys as I think he's a real talent. I was quite surprised to read this. What does everyone else think?
Maybe ODLH is protecting him a little at the same time getting a good draw to the bout. Mosley's been in with everyone so it'll be a great marker. He is still only young don't forget, albeit a world title holder. Bigger things to come for him and there certainly isn't any rush.
If you look at his record, he is making steady progress in the right direction. Moving up from Rhodes, Hatton, Cintron now SSM.
I hear your sentiment about the validity of Shane's title shot, however, he's put in place as a former champion, been in with everyone, got a great chin, unlikely to upset the golden goose and he will sell tickets.
I for one am looking forward to it.
Out of interest, who would you put Canelo in with at this stage of his career?
Looks like you have struck an interesting conversation here Jose..does Shane Mosley deserve another title shot hhmm...i like this question. Does he really?
After thinking more about this fight.. and Canelo with Zero Movement, Canelo Might come un-stuck with SSM. If SSM can still punch & doesn't run away come fight night & gives it his best shot he has a chance.. Its his last shot he will get at a world title in my eyes. SSM to turn back the clocks? we'll see.
I think they are matcing Canelo perfectly at this stage of his career (age and fights so far) - he is learning his trade. My beef is that he is doing it while calling himself a "World Champion". He is fighting fighters who are not worthy of a shot - that includes Mosley.
He should fight Bundgrage and then step up to Trout. If you are the champion then you should be prepared to take on anyone who has 'earned' their shot.
If you don't fancy your chances vs the nominated challenger - then do a Tyson Fury, vacate and go for another title, there are millions of them around being held by paper champs!
Mosley is going to have to be 'juiced' to pull this one off. He hasn't been able to pull the trigger since Margarito. The man is slurring and walking on his heels - he's no longer 'Sugar' and needsto get out the game.
'Juiced Up' haha.. he'll need some serious juice to beat Canelo. Love your opinions Shaun!
